Caesarean Section or Vaginal Delivery?

Caesarean Section or Vaginal Delivery?

A Caesarean section is performed when medically indicated, that is, if there is a risk to the mother or baby should a vaginal delivery be allowed to proceed. Some women, however, choose to have a Caesarean section when there is no medical indication. The international medical community has never been in agreement on whether vaginal delivery or Caesarean section are in the best interest of mother and baby, and there are advantages and disadvantages in both. Therefore, the choice of method of delivery should be carefully discussed with your doctor before a decision is reached.
